A Grand Centennial Celebration: Grand Central Terminal Celebrates 100th Anniversary

Grand Central Terminal's 100th birthday was celebrated all day today with a rededication ceremony, exhibits, special offers, performances, notable speakers and dancing on the main concourse. The rededication ceremony in the morning was attended by Mayor Bloomberg, Caroline Kennedy, Cynthia Nixon, Bill Collins, Keith Hernandez and many performers. Captured in the photos above was the evening celebration that featured performances by Rhythm Collective and Grammy Award-winning big band Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks. During the day, some Grand Central shops and restaurants offered 1913 pricing of select items. There were also sponsored giveaways at special centennial tables. Financier provided a layered Grand Central Clock cake.
