Last Tuesday night, members and supporters of the Granny Peace Brigade observed their 6th Anniversary by holding a vigil by the fountain at Lincoln Center. The members held signs expressing their firm stand against invasions, wars, occupations, against U.S. military bases abroad, militarization of youth, and human and economic costs of war, domestic and international.
Six years ago, 18 women attempted to enlist in the U.S. Military at the Recruitment Center in Times Square. Not only were they not welcomed, they were arrested…and the Granny Peace Brigade was born.
