Labor Day Weekend In Times Square

Labor Day was first observed on August 26, 1878, and became a federal holiday in 1894. Since then, Labor Day weekend has come to be regarded as a weekend of rest, picnics, and vacationing. Being the last weekend of the  summer, Times Square was teeming with tourists this Labor Day weekend just like other destinations in the city. Labor Day is widely perceived as the last day of the year when it's fashionable for women to wear white (and for a few men, not to wear any shirt).
