Therisa Barber, Central Park's Ballerina Mime

Yesterday, near the 72nd Street entrance to Central Park, I came across the well-known ballerina mime, THERISA BARBER. Ms. Barber is a classically trained dancer who moved from her native England to New York City hoping to make it on Broadway. According to her myspace webpage, she started ballet classes in the Royal Academy Of Dance Technique when she was 5. She then trained at the London Studio Center and Bodyworks before working as a professional dancer for 6 years. She came to New York to pursue her dancing career. She has performed at many venues including Cipriani's, The United Nations, Jacob Javits Center, St. Regis Hotel, Sherry Netherland Hotel, and Landmark On The Park, among others.
