2009 TONY Award Nominations

Tony Award winners Cynthia Nixon (Rabbit Hole) and Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights) announced the nominations for the 63rd Annual Tony Awards May 5 at 8:30 AM.

Billy Elliot, The Musical earned 15 nominations, the most of any show of the season.

Other shows that fared well include Next to Normal (11), Hair (8), Shrek the Musical (8), Mary Stuart (7), The Norman Conquests (7), God of Carnage (6) and Joe Turner's Come and Gone (6).
