"That Championship Season", is a new Broadway play that is now in previews at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. The play tells of "four starters from a state champion basketball team (Catholic schools) arriving on the twentieth anniversary of their triumph to reminisce and look for guidance from their ailing coach. Instead, secrets and long-ignored truths are revealed." (from Playbill.com). The cast includes Kiefer Sutherland, Brian Cox, Jim Gaffigan, Chris Noth and Jason Patric, all of whom greeted their fans and theatre goers outside the stagedoor after the matinee performance. The play opens on March 6 and will run until May 29. The Jacobs Theatre is located at 242 West 45th Street. 

Frank Stella's "Grey Scrambled Double Square"

On view at the Museum of Modern Art's Atrium is American artist FRANK STELLA's work called "Grey Scrambled Double Square." Made in 1964, the work is synthetic polymer paint on canvas. Stella's earlier abstract paintings, including this one contain concentric lines, some in gray tones and some in color.

Jason Hackenwerth Artwork Featured In Bergdorf Goodman Window Display

The artworks of Jason Hackenwerth serve as colorful backdrop for the new Bergdorf Goodman window display that features the store's spring lines. Hackenwerth's whimsical balloon sculptures are reminiscent of deep sea creatures, floral patterns, and sex organs. Hackenwerth is well known for his fine art balloon sculpture installations at major gallery and museum exhibitions and events in major cities world-wide.

Snowy Loeb Boathouse in Central Park

The Central Park Loeb Boathouse is located at the northeastern tip of the Lake. It houses the iconic Boathouse Restaurant, a perfect place to dine on a relaxing afternoon lunch or romantic dinner in the warmer months. These images were made on the morning of February 21, 2011, after a light snowstorm.

Looking At Music At the Museum of Modern Art

Looking at Music 3.0, the third in a series of exhibitions exploring the influence of music on contemporary art practices, focuses on New York in the 1980s and 1990s. In this dynamic period, imaginative forms of street art spread across the five boroughs, articulating the counter-culture tenor of the times. As the city transitioned from bankruptcy to solvency, graffiti, media, and performance artists took advantage of low rents and collaborated on ad hoc works shown in alternative spaces and underground clubs. Appropriation, also known as remixing, thrived. Approximately 70 works from a wide range of artists and musicians will be on view, including works by the Beastie Boys, Kathleen Hanna and Le Tigre, Keith Haring, Christian Marclay, Steven Parrino, Run DMC, and Joanie 4 Jackie, a video chain letter founded by Miranda July. Presidents' Day

In celebration of Presidents' Day, American flags are flown at the Rockefeller Plaza, while political bandannas are part of Bergdorf Goodman's window display. Presidents' Day grew out of celebrations of the birthdays of both George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, both of whom were born in February. The federal holiday is celebrated on the third Monday of February.
