Bergdorf Goodman Window Display Celebrates PRADA and SCHIAPARELLI



Bergdorf Goodman pays tribute to Prada and Schiaparelli in its current window display. "Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations” is the new Costume Institute exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art that opened last Wednesday. The display features Schiaparelli's surrealist aesthetic and Prada's 2012 Spring Collection.

Bergdorf Goodman And Saks Fifth Avenue Celebrate The Opening Of "ALEXANDER McQUEEN: SAVAGE BEAUTY" Exhibit At The Metropolitan Museum Of Art

Window art of both Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman feature creations of the late designer Alexander McQueen in advance of a major exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" runs from May 4 through July 31, 2011 at the Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Exhibition Hall, 2nd Floor, Metropolitan Museum of Art. Organized by the Costume Institute, the exhibit celebrates the late designer's extraordinary contribution to fashion. About 100 pieces from the archives from 1992 to 2010 will be on view.

Presidents' Day

In celebration of Presidents' Day, American flags are flown at the Rockefeller Plaza, while political bandannas are part of Bergdorf Goodman's window display. Presidents' Day grew out of celebrations of the birthdays of both George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, both of whom were born in February. The federal holiday is celebrated on the third Monday of February.

Sixth Annual Brooklyn Academy of Music BAMart Silent Auction: Artwork Selection on View at Bergdorf Goodman

On display at the Bergdorf Goodman window on Fifth Avenue and 58th Street is a selection of artwork from the Brooklyn Academy of Music silent art auction. The works of artists like Arturo Gomez Guerra, Jim Gaylord, Tom Burckhardt, Louise Belcourt, Erik Hanson, Patrick McMullan, Lauren Luloff, Jim Napierala, Lisa Kereszi, Saya Woolfalk, and Colleen Plumb, among others are featured in the display. This year’s Honorary Artist Chair Shirin Neshat says, “BAM is a jewel of an institution that continues to redefine our contemporary culture by showcasing the best new experiments in dance, in theatre, music, and in cinema. We need to support BAM so it could carry on challenging its artists, audience and donors to keep exploring and discovering new talents and directions.”
BAMart is one of the programs of the Brooklyn Academy of Music, a major performing arts venue in Brooklyn, a borough of New York City, known as a center for progressive and avant garde performance.

The BERGDORF GOODMAN window displays lining Fifth Avenue each beautifully celebrate winter, spring, summer, autumn and holiday. The displays depict artful scenes that employ a range of imagery all done in ethereal white-on-white scheme. Each window is inspired by the dioramas at the American Museum of Natural History. The sophisticated and stylized displays are very popular among tourists and locals alike. They feature couture fashions, as well as antiques. Bergdorf Goodman is located at 754 Fifth Avenue (at 58th Street).
