Fashion's Night Out

This is an ad campaign at CLUB MONACO on 57th Street for tomorrow's

"FASHIONS'S NIGHT OUT" when retailers across all five boroughs will stay open until 11 p.m. for shopping, and “in-store celebrations and promotions.” American Vogue has joined with NYC & Company, the City of New York, and the Council of Fashion Designers of America to ignite again the consumer spirit that churns the economy and boosts the local industry of America’s fashion capital, New York City. Next only to finance, fashion is the second-largest sector of industry in New York City—the headquarters of more than 800 fashion companies employing 175,000 people and generating $10 billion in total wages. At City Hall’s May 20 press conference to announce Fashion’s Night Out, Vera Wang said, "To put it bluntly, if people don’t shop, people lose their jobs."Almost 100 shops have so far signed on.

Sales of a limited-edition Fashion’s Night Out T-shirt will benefit the National September 11 Memorial & Museum. Shoppers will also be encouraged to donate clothes to the New York City AIDS Fund to benefit HIV/AIDS organizations across the city.

“The city is home to some of the world’s most celebrated and diverse designers, and renowned for its vast array of retailers from legendary department stores to the most charming independent boutiques,” Vogue magazine editor in chief Anna Wintour said at the news conference announcing the event.
