West 14th Street
This is the view of West 14th Street from the High Line. 14th Street is a major crosstown street in Manhattan, and an important business location. It is also considered the northern boundary of Greenwich Village, Alphabet City and the East Village, and the southern boundary of Chelsea, Flatiron/Lower Midtown, and Gramercy.

The New Yorker Hotel
The New Yorker Hotel is one of the most famous hotels in New York. Located at 481 8th Avenue and 34th Street in midtown Manhattan, the 43-story art deco hotel opened in 1930. From Muhammad Ali to Nikola Tesla, late President John F. Kennedy to Jennifer Hudson, many of the most influential personalities stayed at this hotel.

Tourism Slogan "It's More Fun In The Philippines" Hits The Streets of New York City
The latest campaign slogan of the Philippine Department of Tourism, "It's more fun in the Philippines" hits New York City. Spotted yesterday in the Flatiron District was a Dongbu Tour bus sporting the slogan and colorful photos of attractions in the Philippines. During the last Philippine Independence Day parade, there was also a colorful float for the campaign. The Department of Tourism is aggressively pushing the "It's more fun in the Philippines" slogan to the international community.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Fare Hike
The New York City Metropolitan Transportation Authority's fare hike went into effect at midnight on March 3, including a monthly ticket increase for Long Island Rail Road riders of as much as 15.3 percent, depending on destination and trip type, along with a quarter increase in most subway and bus fares. LIRRfares rose an average of 9 percent, along with Metro-North train fares. Subway and bus rides increased from $2.25 to $2.50 for a single ride, and express buses will cost $6. Other notable increases include a seven-day MetroCard hitting $30, up from $29, and a monthly MetroCard going up from $104 to $112. Customers are now charged $1 for every new MetroCard they purchase, and tolls have also gone up. Toll increases range from $4.80 to $5.33 for E-ZPass customers and from $6.50 to $7.50 for cash customers.

Aritzia Boutique to Open Soon on Fifth Avenue
Aritzia, the Canadian retailer for women will open up a second boutique at 600 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. The Fifth Avenue store will be its largest in the world. It will carry the same lines as the Soho location, like A Moveable Feast and Wilfred, and the interior design concept will "revolve around a metaphysical theme inspired by natural phenomena."

Central Park South
Central Park South is the section of 59th Street that forms the southern border of Central Park in Manhattan. It runs from Columbus Circle on the west to the Grand Army Plaza at Fifth Avenue on the east. Central Park South is home to the Plaza Hotel, the Ritz-Carlton in Central Park, the Park Lane, and JW Marriott Essex House, as well as some of the most expensive apartments in the city. Fifth Annual "Summer Streets" 2012
Summer Streets is an annual celebration of New York City's streets. During this event, nearly seven miles of Manhattan streets are closed to vehicular traffic and open for everyone to play, run, walk and bike. The event takes place on three consecutive Saturdays (August 4, 11 and 18) from 7 AM to 1 PM. This year's event features rock climbing at Spring Street, free bike helmet at 51st Street, a zip line at Foley Square, dance and exercise lessons, and of course, a pleasant, car-free stroll along Park Avenue from Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park. There are also art installations and free food and beverage samples in a couple of rest stops. This event is free.
