They are some of the participants in this year's Easter Parade and Easter Bonnet Festival. The area along Fifth Avenue from 49th to 57th Streets was closed to vehicular traffic for this festival.

The flagship store of the upscale jeweler, Cartier, is again adorned for the holidays with a red bow and ribbons that wrap up the elegant building at Fifth Avenue and 52nd Street. since 1979. The display featuring thousands of LED lights is designed by the Metropolis Group of Companies in London, England. On the left is Salvatore Ferragamo.

iPhones 5C/5S Launch Draws Record Crowds Outside Apple's 5th Avenue Flagship Store

This morning, Apple launched the new iPhone 5C/5S. Long lines of Apple fans that circled two blocks awaited the launch outside the Flagship store on Fifth Avenue. Today's launch marks the first time that Apple has offered more than one new iPhone and the first time it has offered a wide variety of colors.

One Night At The Museum Mile - The 2013 Museum Mile Festival

 

Last night, the 23-block stretch of Fifth Avenue (82nd to 105th Streets) called the Museum Mile turned into a car-free pedestrian plaza when ten of the city’s most prestigious art institutions—including the Guggenheim, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of the City of New York—opened their doors to the public free of charge for three hours. The annual Museum Mile Festival featured musical performances, including Batala all-women Afro-Brazilian Samba Reggae drumming band, string quartets, and jazz ensembles, as well as entertainment for kids. The annual event took place from 5:45 PM until 9:00 PM.

The 252nd St. Patrick's Day Parade

Hundreds of thousands of revelers lined the streets along Fifth Avenue today for the 252nd annual parade. Typically, New York City’s parade is held on March 17, the actual date of St. Patrick’s Day. But because the holiday falls on a Sunday this year, the parade is being held on Saturday due to religious observances. The parade, which predates the declaration of Independence of the United States, was led by 750 members of the New York Army National Guard. The 1st Battalion of the 69th Infantry has been marching in the parade since 1851. There were bagpipe bands, Irish dancers, politicians, marching bands and participants from other states. The St Patrick's Day Parade is one of the few remaining where no cars, floats, buses, trucks or other vehicles are allowed.
