It was a fantastic Tony Awards show last night at Radio City Music Hall and I truly enjoyed the energy and excitement of the awards ceremony. BILLY ELLIOT, the British-born musical about a miner's son who wants to be a ballet dancer, and GOD OF CARNAGE, Yasmina Reza's dark comedy about two couples who squabble over a playground incident involving their children, were named Best Musical and Best Play, respectively. The show was hosted by stage and television actor Neil Patrick Harris.
This year's awards night turned out to be the highest-rated Tony Awards in three years, according to Nielsen preliminary ratings. The 63rd Annual Tony Awards were viewed by 7.45 million people, a 19 percent increase from the previous season.
