2009 Philippine Independence Day Parade in New York

Philippine Vice President Noli De Castro

Aljur Abrenica and Mylene Dizon

This year's Philippine Independence Day celebration also commemorates the 111th Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence. The Filipino communities of the US Northeast celebrated this historic annual event yesterday in a parade that kicked off on 41st Street and Madison Avenue at around noon. The occasion was attended by Philippine Vice President Noli De Castro and entertainment personalities (see other posting).

I'd love to include the photo of Nicky Vasquez with credit in the upcoming NASPA Tournament Scrabble News. Could you please let me know if that would be possible? (private communication)

That is the best independence day celebration in the Philippines. I saw Mr. De Castro , the present Vice president wears a independence day mens suits last time but now he doesn't.
