Located under the Ed Koch Queensboro or 59th Street Bridge, across from the United Nations, Roosevelt Island has 600 incredible cherry trees. They are in full bloom. The annual cherry blossoms festival took place last Saturday at the East River Promenade featuring Japanese culture, food, spring wine tasting and other activities.

That's a LOT of cherry trees! We haven't got to the Cherry Tree season yet, so nice to see it over there.
Just looking at your pics from a photographer's eye for a minute Noel - was it your intention to get a little red in 5 of your photos? Just wondered? It's something I would be looking for when composing a picture!

Sometimes it's intentional, but at other times, coincidental. For me, having red or some other bright color makes it more interesting, provides contrast, and breaks the monotony of the pale color of the flowers. Happy Spring, Jan.
PRECIOUS, and an invitation to take a walk and see :-)
