American singer-songwriter JOSH RITTER is touring to promote his sixth album "So Runs The World Away." Born in Moscow, Idaho on October 21, 1976 to two leading neuroscientists who were my mentors in graduate school, Mr. Ritter has been compared to Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Leondard Cohen. Yesterday's edition of the New York Times featured Mr. Ritter in an article authored by Ben Sisario with Mr. Ritter's photo taken by Derek Speirs. Mr. Ritter's career continues to take a steady upward progression and acclaim and win over loyal fans. He plays at Town Hall in Manhattan on May 19 and 20, and at the Music Hall of Williamsburg, in Brooklyn, on May 22.

JOSH RITTER on PBS: Live From the Artists Den
Earlier, I tuned in to the hit PBS series "Live from the Artists Den" featuring singer-songwriter JOSH RITTER's concert recorded at the Natural History Museum of LA County on October 26, 2007. The program will be aired again in New York's WLIW21 on Saturday, May 23 at 10 PM. The program featured extended footage including interview clips in its public television premiere.
Josh Ritter, son of my PhD thesis adviser and mentor in Washington State University (they reside in Idaho), recorded and released his debut album in 1999 after graduating from Oberlin College in Ohio.
Josh Ritter and The New York Pops are scheduled to kickoff this year's CENTRAL PARK SUMMERSTAGE season on Friday June 12, 2009 at 8 PM at Central Park’s Rumsey Playfield. This concert is FREE. Josh will be performing orchestrated arrangements from his catalog backed by the fabulous New York Pops.
