"Urban Umbrella," New Scaffolding Design Makes Its Manhattan Debut

The new scaffolding design called "Urban Umbrella," winner of the city's urbanSHED International Design Competition, made its Manhattan street debut the other day at 100 Broadway in Lower Manhattan. Urban Umbrella was created by Agencie Group designers Andres Cortes, Young-Hwan Choi and Sarrah Khan. It is arguably more aesthetically pleasing than the old scaffolding, and has built in LED lighting. I hope all buildings will use this new design instead of the old scaffolding, one of the most ubiquitous eyesores in the city.
