@ the stagedoor: ANGELA LANSBURY and RUPERT EVERETT (BLITHE SPIRIT)

Legendary stage, movie and television actress ANGELA LANSBURY and actor RUPERT EVERETT greet their fans outside the SAM S. SHUBERT THEATRE. They starin the Broadway revival of Noel Coward's BLITHE SPIRIT. Synopsis: Researching material for a new novel, Charles engages Madame Arcati, a spiritual medium of uncertain talents, to communicate with the dead. Quite by accident, she summons the spirit of Charles’s first wife, Elvira, and can't make her go away. Ruth, Charles' current wife, is rather put out. This 1941 comedy features Coward's sparkling dialogue and a wickedly clever plot. The Shubert Theatre is located at 225 West 44th Street. I took these photos last March 29th after the matinee performance of the play.
