"The Spirit of East Harlem" Mural by Hank Prussing and Manny Vega

This mural is called "The Spirit of East Harlem" by Hank Prussing and Manny Vega. It is painted on a residential building at East 104th Street and Lexington Avenue. It was started by Hank Prussing in 1973 and restored by Mr. Vega lin 1999. The piece, a towering homage to the neighborhood as it was in the 1970's, is made up of loving portraits of residents, set in a landscape of high-rises.
