There is an ongoing solo exhibition called THROUGH MY WINDOW: Vibrancy and Serenity by the Korean photographer AHAE at Grand Central Terminal's Vanderbilt Hall. The exhibition features more than 50 photographs, selected from one and a quarter million pieces, all taken from ONE WINDOW over a period of two and a half years between 2009 and 2011. Through his photography, Ahae emphasizes the importance of honest and simple photography created without any artificial or synthetic elements, and seeks to call attention to the extent to which nature can thrive when left alone to flourish and heal itself. Ahae’s THROUGH MY WINDOW exhibition tour started at Grand Central Terminal in April this year and traveled to prestigious venues such as the National Gallery in Prague, the garden of Clarence House, the official residence of The Prince of Wales, and Lancaster House in London. His photographs were also recently shown at the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, London and was on display at the 4th Moscow Biennale this past month. Ahae’s solo exhibition will be held at the Alinari National Museum of Photography in Florence, Italy in December 2011 and at the Magazzini del Sale in Venice, Italy in March 2012. The exhibition runs through October 22. Information from the Grand Central terminal website. |
