Welcome To Josie Robertson Plaza And The Metropolitan Opera House

This is the Josie Robertson Plaza, the gateway to Lincoln Center. It is centered on the Revson Fountain and is located between Avery Fisher Hall, the David Koch Theater, and the Metropolitan Opera House. The home of Lincoln Center’s Midsummer Night Swing and Out of Doors festivals, the Plaza becomes an alfresco musical paradise in the summertime. It is located in Manhattan's Upper West Side at Columbus Avenue between 63rd and 64th Streets.

Mariah Carey Performs Live In Central Park For Good Morning America Summer Concert Series

Mariah Carey, one of the best-selling music artists of all time, performed live in Central Park's Rumsey Playfield early this morning for ABC Television's Good Morning America Summer Concert Series. In one segment, Mariah wore a gorgeous light pink Versace sequined gown which "malfunctioned." During the show, the back of the gown popped open but the situation got fixed. Mariah first performed the hit song "Always Be My Baby", and then offered the first-ever live performance of her new single, “#Beautiful,” featuring Miguel. Carey has won five Grammy Awards, 17 World Music Awards, 11 American Music Awards, and 31 Billboard Music Awards. She is known for her five-octave vocal range and signature use of the whistle register. Good Morning America, America's reigning favorite morning program offers a free summer concert series at the Rumsey Playfield which is located right off the 5th Avenue and 72nd Street entrance to Central Park.

All concerts are free and open to the public and will take place live during "Good Morning America," Fridays from 7 to 9 a.m. ET.

Viewers interested in joining "GMA" in Central Park are encouraged to arrive at Rumsey Playfield via the 72nd street entrance on Fifth Avenue at 6:00am when the park opens to the public. 

A Wedding Photoshoot

Grand Central Terminal, one of the nation's historical landmarks and the busiest train station in the country, is also a frequent location for engagement, pre-wedding and wedding photoshoot. These images were captured on March 3rd.

Urban Abstract: Empire State Building Tower Lights

This abstract light photography was taken when the Empire State Building tower was lit in red, white and blue last year. From May 24 through 27, the top tier of the Empire State Building will be lit in red, white and blue in honro of Memorial Day. 

The "Disneyfication" of Times Square

According to the Times Square Alliance, more than 50 costumed characters  work in Times Square. The crossroads of the world has become "family-friendly" with the presence of buskers dressed as cartoon/movie characters soliciting tips from tourists who pose for photos with them. However, there were some isolated incidents involving bad behavior by some of these costumed characters that regulation is being proposed. 

"Super Mario groped the woman," says Times Square Alliance president Tim Tompkins. "Elmo was ranting anti-Semitic things. Spider-Man punched a woman in the face. Now a kid was attacked by Cookie Monster. And those are just ones where there's been an arrest! We've anecdotally heard there's a lot more that's been happening. One of my staff members said an Elmo patted her backside when she was walking through Times Square on a crowded day."
